Turnout Levels and Latino Voters Create New Voting Patterns in California

Although Donald Trump lost California by a wide margin in the 2024 presidential election, he fared better statewide than any Republican 20 years—even as Democrats had a net gain of three seats in California's US House delegation. In order to reconcile these two shifts, we take a close look at turnout and results from last November.
