This year’s Point in Time Count results are in, team, and here’s what they show:

For the first time in Los Angeles, homelessness is reported to be down for the second consecutive year in a row.

Together, L.A. is tackling the humanitarian crisis on our streets and turning the corner on street homelessness and bucking nationwide trends — despite a jump in homelessness nationwide, Los Angeles has now seen a reported decrease in homelessness two years in a row.

Mayor Bass is making historic progress in her work to bring people inside and save lives.

Street homelessness has reduced by 17.5% since Mayor Bass took office — the largest decrease over two years since the Point in Time Count began in 2005. And the number of makeshift shelters, tents, cars, vans and RVs are down 13.5%, while permanent housing placements in L.A. are at an all-time high.

The Mayor knows there is still so much work to be done, which is why she is locking arms with Angelenos and advocates to turn the tides on homelessness in Los Angeles.
