⚠️
John, summer is here—and families are fighting for their lives.

The intense heat is especially hard on children in crisis zones, who are forced to go without enough food to eat or clean water to drink.

By September, the number of people facing catastrophic hunger and starvation will nearly double, according to the latest analysis by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC).

🆘 Now, the scorching summer heat is making the crisis even worse.

It's hard to breathe. Nearly impossible to cool down. And more than two million Palestinians—half of them children—still lack access to sufficient water, food and medical care.

For a limited time, all first monthly gifts will be MATCHED—meaning your support will go 2X as far to help children and families survive this summer.

As a compassionate IRC supporter I know you care deeply about children and families in crisis. So please, start a monthly donation right now to support children and families who are in dire need »

On the frontlines of the conflict, Dr. Wala'a is working around the clock to deliver nutrition support to Gaza's most vulnerable, including children under five and pregnant and lactating women.

She is on the staff of Juzoor for Health and Social Development, an IRC partner providing lifesaving care in more than 30 shelters across Gaza and through mobile health teams.

Dr. Wala'a, a general practitioner with IRC partner Juzoor, conducts medical checkups and follows up on children's health conditions at medical point in Jabalia, northern Gaza.

Every day, she witnesses the health impacts of the conflict and recurring restrictions that prevent humanitarian assistance from reaching those in need.

"Almost all hospitals around Gaza have been damaged or destroyed. This has led to outbreaks of skin infections, respiratory diseases and infectious diseases in general…""

"Also, we've noticed that there is a rise in the malnutrition rate among children and lactating and pregnant women."

Amid the intense hostilities, Dr. Wala'a and her team remain focused on treating as many cases of acute malnutrition as possible. With training and support from the IRC, they use simplified protocols that have been proven to treat malnutrition quickly and effectively.

But with almost every person in Gaza in need of humanitarian aid, we must urgently scale up these kinds of lifesaving programs to help more people survive. Starting a monthly donation is one of the most effective ways you can make a lasting impact.

For a limited time, your first monthly gift will go TWO TIMES as far to protect children and their families from the rising threat of starvation. Rush your gift now »
