Good morning!
I hope this message finds you well and that you are enjoying your summer.
We've been surrounded by devastating flash-flooding in our region. Fortunately, our apartment is up near the top of a hill, and we are cozy and dry here. The weather has been so strange - an absolute deluge with thunder and lightning every single day and a different neighborhood flooding each time. The rest of the time has been hot and sunny. I've lived in North Carolina on and off for years, and I've never experienced weather like this. It's predicted to go on for the next week, too.
I was quite disappointed this week to "learn" that there are "no Epstein client lists," etc., etc. (Yeah, right.) I feel rather deceived since this information was promised to us and now those in control of the situation are gaslighting the public by acting as if those things never existed. A lot of people are calling for Pam Bondi's head, but I don't believe this was her decision. She's following orders that are coming from higher up. There are a million theories as to why this is all being hushed up again, but my biggest issues are the lack of accountability for child rapists and the lying. I'm beginning to find myself very disillusioned, and it's not a good feeling.
I've been working hard to spend less time on the computer. Reading books, working jigsaw puzzles, organizing our new place - it's very nice and a positive lifestyle change. Honestly, I find the internet exhausting quite often, like in the scenario with the Epstein files. If we're just going to be lied to, why would I follow these stories at all?
It's like Selco always says, small circles are the most important when big circles get crazy.
Physical therapy is going well, though, of course, slowly. I've regained 5% of the motion in my left ankle. It's certainly not a lot, but it's moving in the proper direction. I am really happy with my new physical therapist and hope that insurance will approve me to continue working with him. I avoid the apartment complex pool like the plague on the weekend, but I try to pop over to swim a few times during the week, which is helping me rebuild some of my stamina.
Life is so much better now than it was a year ago, though not in a way I'd ever have predicted five years ago. It's really nice to recapture my joy and appreciation of the little things.
I hope this week brings wonderful things your way.
Stay safe.
Be happy.
Love,
Daisy
