Senator Katie Britt Leads Effort to Expand Child Care Tax Credits in Landmark
Senate Bill
<[link removed]>

<[link removed]>

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) led a bipartisan group of
lawmakers in advancing historic updates to federal child care tax credits,
included in the Senate’s recently passed reconciliation bill. The measure,
which passed by a narrow 51-50 vote, marks the first major revision to key
child care tax credits in over two decades.

The legislation modernizes and expands the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit
(CDCTC), Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP), and the Employer-Provided
Child Care Tax Credit (45F). While CDCTC and 45F had not been permanently
updated since 2001, DCAP had not been revised since 1986. Advocates say these
changes are long overdue as the cost of child care has risen by 263% over that
time period.

Sen. Britt celebrates U.S. Senate passage of “Lulu’s Law”
<[link removed]>

Earlier this week, the U.S. Senate passed “Lulu’s Law”—a piece of legislation
sponsored by U.S. Senator Katie Britt, R-Alabama, which would create a national
warning alert system for shark attacks through the Federal Communications
Commission.

The law is named for 16-year-old Lulu Gribbin from Mountain Brook, Alabama,
who lost her left hand and right leg in a shark attack on a Florida beach last
year. The Alabama state Legislature passed its own version of Lulu’s Law during
the 2025 Legislative Session, which established a state shark alert system for
Baldwin and Mobile counties.

Britt on Dems politicizing deadly Texas flood: 'Trump derangement syndrome is
real'
<[link removed]>

<[link removed]>

During a Tuesday appearance on Fox News Channel's "Hannity," U.S. Sen. Katie
Britt (R-Montgomery) criticized Democrats for blaming President Donald Trump
and his administration for the recent Texas flooding, which has reportedly
eclipsed a death toll of 100.

After offering up prayers and support, noting that a Mountain Brook youth and
Mobile family had been lost in the devastation, Britt blasted Democrats such as
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) for saying National Weather
Service cuts led to the disaster.
