At the Anne Frank Center USA, we believe in the power of young people to change the world.

We are mourning the loss of many young lives in the flooding in Central Texas on July 4, and we are thankful for the brave individuals who risked their own lives to bring people to safety.
Last month we dedicated a sapling at Carla Peperzak Middle School in Spokane, Washington. Carla joined the Dutch resistance as a teenager.
Her bravery saved lives during the Holocaust, and her life-long commitment to humanity will continue to inspire generations of students at the school that is named for her.
