Doulas play a vital role in supporting pregnant, birthing, and postpartum people by providing a wide range of services that improve health outcomes and reduce maternal and infant mortality rates for every parent. Yet, of the roughly 9,000 registered doulas nationwide, many face burnout due to limited support, isolation, and lack of community connection. Without prioritizing care for the doulas themselves, the longevity of this essential workforce is at risk.
Join us on Tuesday, July 15 for the second session in our Redesigning Maternal Health ([link removed]) series, exploring what it takes to prioritize doula mental health and well-being. Expert speakers will share bright spot examples that feature practical strategies, tools, and resources to support workforce longevity through self-care, peer connection, and advocacy efforts.
Together we will:
* Explore the importance of peer connection and community building for long term retention and well-being
* Learn approaches to address burnout and promote mental health through intentional spaces and resources; and
* Recognize the advocacy efforts needed to ensure doula comprehensive care and sustainable, living wages.
