John,

It’s that time of year again – ELECTION SEASON! 🎉

Countdown to Primary Election day!

Voter turnout plummets in odd years like 2025. Watching Republicans last week vote to give the wealthy more money, take those in need off Medicaid, and increase energy costs shows why voting in every election is important. Local elections more directly impact our communities. And this year, local issues and candidates are on your ballot.

Each year, we keep our most dedicated supporters like you up to date with actions to take, voting information, and upcoming events to support democracy and WCA-endorsed candidates. Get involved this election year. Opt-in to our weekly Election Emails. [[link removed]]

Here’s what’s at stake in 2025:

Eight state legislative seats are up for election. Anti-environmental interests are specifically targeting Issaquah (LD 5) and Kitsap (LD 26) Senate seats.

Key mayoral races in Bremerton, Tacoma, Vancouver, and Steilacoom, with environmental champion candidates running.

Seattle decides on renewing its successful Democracy Voucher Program (Prop 1), which has increased campaign finance participation from actual voters over corporations.

Bryan Heywood, the right-wing multi-millionaire funder of failed Initiative 2117 that sought to roll back state climate action last election, is back with another anti-democratic agenda. He's threatening to make voting more difficult for Washingtonians by requiring IDs to vote and abolishing vote-by-mail. We are determined to fight against all forms of voter suppression and attacks on voting justice.

It’s because of dedicated civic champions like you that we turn out voters, elect lawmakers that deliver on our environmental needs, and push for a healthy democracy. Let’s keep fighting to make our voices heard!

Go. Fight. Win!
