Long before I served in Congress or as Secretary of the Interior, I made a
living selling jars of my homemade salsa.

I started my salsa business when Somáh was just two years old. I was the
designated salsa maker at all family and friend dinners, and it was always
a hit! Finally, I decided to take the leap and start my own small business
to share my salsa and give Somáh and me more time together.

That’s how Pueblo Salsa was born. I worked out of a commercial kitchen and
sourced my red chile pequin from a farm in northern New Mexico. When I
wasn’t busy prepping, roasting, and blending ingredients for my homemade
salsa, I’d strap Somáh in the car seat and we’d drive for hours delivering
orders to mom-and-pop shops across the state. It was a small business with
a big heart. ❤️

So much has changed since those days I spent running my business, but my
passion for sharing New Mexican food with friends and family is still as
fierce as ever. That’s why I’m beyond excited to share our newest addition
to the Team Deb merch store: our official Be Fierce green chile salsa!
