House Republicans Delivered Economic Relief

Last week, the House of Representatives passed a generational piece of legislation. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act will deliver on the promises Republicans made to the American people. This bill provides much-needed economic relief, secures our southern border, and bolsters our military.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act gives more opportunities to live the American Dream. It will give rocket-fuel to the United States economy, provide predictability and certainty for small businesses, and deliver historic tax relief for hardworking Americans.

This is a win for Illinois’ 16th Congressional District and the American people. The Republican bill prevents a 22% tax hike on those in my district. It is also one of the most pro-family pieces of legislation in history by doubling the Child Tax Credit for 69,000 households in the 16th District. Because of far-left Democratic leadership in our state, Illinoisans are burdened by some of the highest state and local taxes. The One Big Beautiful Bill delivered up to a $13,500 increase in yearly take-home pay for the typical family of four.

In addition, it delivers on President Trump’s key priorities by eliminating taxes on tips, overtime, and auto loans. After four years of failed economic policies, businesses on Main Street need economic relief. Republicans expanded and made the 199A small business deduction to create over one million new small businesses and generate $750 billion in new economic growth. This economic boom will create over seven million new jobs across the country.

Supporting America’s Farmers

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act invests in the future of Illinois agriculture. Rural communities across the Midwest have seen the benefits of the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit through new job opportunities and increased markets. The Republican bill extends this key tax credit through 2029, creating broader industry growth and directly supporting farmers and the biofuels market in Illinois’ 16th Congressional District.

It is critical that we do all we can to ensure that family farms get passed down to the next generation. This legislation saves 11,000 family-owned farms from the Death Tax.

Protecting Manufacturing Jobs

A strong America is built by American workers. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act protects American manufacturing by preserving 10,000 jobs and generating $800 million in wages and $1.6 billion in economic growth.

My Priorities in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act

As I travel throughout Illinois’ 16th Congressional District, I hear from constituents about the lack of affordable housing. Included in the legislation is language from my Affordable Housing Credit Improvement Act. This will jumpstart the development of affordable housing in rural, suburban, and urban areas across the country.

To expand on President Trump’s priority of no tax on tips, I advocated for the extension of the Federal Insurance Contribution Act. This would eliminate taxes on tips for those who work in the salon and beauty service industry. My Small Business Tax Fairness and Compliance Act will level the playing field for those who rely on tips for a large portion of their income.

Included in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is language that would give American families increased choices to save and afford healthcare costs through a health savings account. This would make these accounts more accessible for patients and families while expanding access to health coverage.

Other Key Pieces of Legislation

In under six months, the Trump Administration and House Republicans ended the rampant flow of drugs and illegal immigrants crossing our southern border. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act ensures our border remains secure by investing in our border patrol agents and finishing the wall.

Our foreign adversaries are on the move, and the United States must be prepared to rise to the challenge. This piece of legislation provides generational investments to our defense systems, prioritizes nuclear deterrence, and supports our service members.
