John, here’s what I know:

Republicans in Congress betrayed Americans to please Donald Trump. Their big ugly budget will leave millions of American families–including Veterans and military families–without health care or food assistance, just so that Trump and Republicans could pay for even more billionaire tax cuts.

We have to do everything in our power to make Republicans pay for these shameful cuts and for exploding our deficit by four trillion dollars. That means holding them accountable on Capitol Hill, in their districts and at the ballot box.

Even in these dark times, we won’t lose hope. I know this because I see thousands of people across the country, including this team, banding together to make a difference.

If we want tomorrow to be better than today, we have to come together now.

I will keep working everyday in the Senate to advocate for folks like you, and for everyone hurt by this bill. But I need your support to continue this effort.

So, today, I’m asking this team to come together to help me defend access to life-saving basic needs programs that Veterans and families across the country rely on.
