If you think it seems absurd that we're reaching out to you about stopping fracked gas pipelines in 2025, we do too. But with Donald Trump back gutting key environmental protections and reviving pipeline proposals that we quashed years back, we can't stress enough how real and dangerous his influence is.
We need Governor Hochul to fight back now! Urge her to stop Trump pipelines in New York and step up to his Oil & Gas billionaire friends.
Back in March, Governor Hochul met with Trump to discuss building out fossil fuel projects in our state which have been recently defeated. These dangerous fossil fuel projects include the Williams' NESE and Constitution pipelines. Thanks to a large grassroots movement of New Yorkers, these proposals were rightfully nixed years ago. A third New York fossil fuel pipeline expansion project, Enbridge's "Project Maple", could also gain traction with Donald Trump now looking to push more fracked gas throughout our state. This is simply unacceptable.
We cannot afford the added costs these pipelines would bring to everyday New Yorkers and the negative impacts new fossil fuel infrastructure has on our air, water and climate. Luckily, this isn't a done deal and all these pipelines need state permitting to move forward.
Governor Hochul must not backtrack on her commitment to lower costs for New Yorkers and uphold our state's climate laws. Urge her to stop Trump pipelines in New York immediately!
Here's the kicker-- on Wednesday, July 1, Governor Hochul quietly fast-tracked the the review process for the Williams NESE pipeline. This means the clock is ticking on whether we can stop this pipeline from being built already! We need to send her a comment to get more time for public engagement to stop this $1 billion massive fracked gas project that will produce 8 million tons of metric pollution annually!
We've stopped these types of fossil fuels projects before and we will do so again. But it's going to take an enormous grassroots movement pressuring our Governor to make sure she doesn't cave to Trump and his fossil fuel cronies.
There will certainly be more protesting, marching, lobbying and actions to come. And we will send more details on that shortly. But for now sign this petition and share with your friends!

1) Williams' NESE Pipeline: Williams Co., a Oklahoma-based fossil fuel company, wants to build a new fracked gas pipeline that would run underwater from New Jersey to the Rockaways in New York City. Williams Pipeline was stopped initially during the Cuomo administration but with Trump in office, they have applied again for permits to build and must be stopped. On July 1, Gov. Hochul fast-tracked the review process with the Department of Environmental Conservation, giving us limited time to stop this dangerous proposal.
2) Williams' Constitution Pipeline: Williams also wants to build a new fracked gas pipeline that would run through the Southern Tier region towards Albany. The Constitution Pipeline was also stopped due to relentless grassroots pressure years back but is now back on the table due to Donald Trump. 3) Enbridge's 'Project Maple' (Expansion of Algonquin Pipeline): The Canadian-based fossil fuel company Enbridge wants to expand compressor stations and pipeline infrastructure along the Algonquin pipeline route that goes through Rockland and Westchester counties in the Hudson Valley.
