As an independent medical humanitarian organization, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) reaches people with lifesaving medical care when and where it's needed most. Thanks to our committed community of supporters, our work is steadfast in the face of escalating needs worldwide.
Still, many of the organizations and programs we work alongside have been directly affected by cuts to funding for international aid. We don’t work in a vacuum, and our teams are seeing the consequences of funding cuts firsthand. This has already resulted in drop-offs in critical relief and resources that are essential for people in emergency situations.
Your support matters now more than ever. Individual donors—people like you—allow us to provide care, even while aid is cut for millions. A gift right now will ensure that essential aid and lifesaving care reach patients in more than 70 countries around the world.

In Somalia, our work to treat tuberculosis (TB) will become even more challenging as United States Agency for International Development (USAID) cuts will reduce funding for TB programs across Africa. Right now, over 2.6 million people in Somalia have been displaced—forcing them to live in overcrowded camps where TB spreads easily and children are especially at risk. Families often have to embark on long and perilous journeys to access medical care to treat TB.
Since 2022, MSF has been treating TB by running mobile clinics and supporting local hospitals. We’ve had success—but the number of patients with multidrug-resistant TB is growing.
Cuts to humanitarian aid by the US government are expected to lead to fewer tests, incomplete treatments, and a higher spread of TB—when the rate is already very high in Somalia. As we continue our response in Somalia and in countries where funding losses will accelerate humanitarian emergencies, your gift will make a profound impact in our patients’ lives.
With global health and humanitarian programs experiencing massive disruptions, our independent work is as important as ever—and your support is even more critical. We remain committed to providing medical care to those who need it most, and with your help, we will continue to save lives wherever it's needed most.
