For years, federal agencies spent taxpayer dollars without basic tracking measures, leaving billions unaccounted for and eroding public trust. A recent watchdog report revealed over $4.7 trillion in past Treasury payments lacked key information, including who received the money, what it was for, or the legal authority behind it. This commonsense bill modeled after Florida’s system, directs the Treasury Department to track and document every payment it makes, just like responsible businesses do. The Ledger Act will help prevent waste, reduce fraud and rebuild public confidence in how the federal government handles your tax dollars. Click here to learn more.
