Donald Trump just reinstated and expanded one of his most hateful policies: a sweeping travel ban targeting people from 12 countries and restricting travelers from 7 more.
This policy is rooted in racism, xenophobia, and fear, not safety. It disproportionately targets Muslim-majority nations, Black-majority nations, and populations already facing political violence and climate disasters.
Like Trump’s escalation of ICE raids and cruel deportations, this ban is part of his larger strategy to divide us, dehumanize our neighbors, and shut the door on people seeking refuge in the U.S.
Rep. Judy Chu and Sen. Chris Coons have introduced the NO BAN Act, which would:
✅ Ban discrimination in immigration based on religion or nationality
✅ Limit executive authority to impose travel bans
✅ Require congressional oversight and transparency
