WSJ: Can the ‘Abundance Agenda’ Save the Democrats?
If you haven't heard yet, the recently published book Abundance is making waves across the country and the world for its brave, unabashed message of how we go forward.
While Trump took the Republican Party to the far-right and authoritarianism, Democrats are stuck on defense without a message going forward...
Here is the message we need:
➪ The abundance agenda is
fighting climate change with an abundance of research and action,
not by forcing worse standards of living on the next generation.
➪ The abundance agenda is
fixing housing and transportation with an abundance of availability and options,
not by making it harder for young people to settle down.
➪ And the abundance agenda is
reversing the rise of fascism by proving our government can work and make life better,
not by electing leaders who do nothing in office.
Abundance is about more education, more health care, more jobs — it's about a government that does more and wants more for its people instead of pitting them against each other for crumbs while the rich take a bigger share of the pie.
We are the first major progressive organization to commit to the abundance agenda. Why? Because young people and the next generation need a reason to vote and a reason to believe in their country if we want to have a future. The abundance agenda does that. But to start on this journey, we need the resources to get our message out: we set a $1,000 goal in the first 24 hours of our announcement to organize Gen Z around this message.
