John,
An African village in the Congo (DRC) was quiet – it was 2 a.m. and residents, predominantly Christians, were asleep, completely unaware of the violence closing in.
Witnesses say that during the raid, ISIS-linked jihadists swept in with ruthless force, surrounding homes and targeting Christians with machetes: "The screams echoed until around 5 a.m."
A pastor told authorities: "[My home] is becoming an ocean of tears . . . every day, innocent people are killed. We are tired of this endless violence . . . ."
TODAY we are taking EMERGENCY action to defend Christians in the Congo, especially women and children facing abduction and sexual violence at the hands of ISIS. We are imploring a U.N. Special Rapporteur who is headed to the Congo to demand direct action to protect Christians.
I just returned from the U.N. in Geneva where I personally delivered a major oral intervention on behalf of persecuted Christians in the Congo. We also just sent a vital letter to Secretary of State Rubio and helped draft a congressional resolution urging action.
It's our sacred duty to defend dying Christians. But to continue drastically expanding this vital legal work, we need your Tax-Deductible support. As we launch our Justice Drive, have your gift doubled TODAY: $25 becomes $50; $50 becomes $100.
Have Your Gift Doubled To Defend Dying Christians.
Sexual crime and trafficking thrive amidst the Christian persecution occurring in the Congo – it's estimated that 407,000 Congolese are currently trafficked. Be the voice of the voiceless. Take action with us at the U.N. today.
Sign: Stop Atrocities Against Christians in the Congo.
