Friend, After everything already known about Emil Bove, you’d think his Senate confirmation hearing couldn’t make things worse. But it did. Pressed under oath, Bove refused to say who he spoke with at the White House before dropping federal corruption charges against Mayor Eric Adams. He gave shifting, flimsy justifications for that decision – then ducked questions about whether a judgeship was part of the quid pro quo. When asked whether he told subordinates they might have to ignore a court order – literally saying “’f--- you’ to the court” – he said he couldn’t remember. Can you imagine a high-ranking DOJ official forgetting something like that? Senator Schiff didn’t buy it. Neither did we. Especially because Politico Magazine just published a detailed investigation confirming the credibility of whistleblower Erez Reuveni, the longtime DOJ attorney who exposed Bove’s alleged misconduct. Reuveni’s warnings were clear: DOJ leadership, including Bove, planned to resist and mislead the courts to carry out Trump’s agenda. Add that to Bove’s documented pattern of retaliation, abuse of power, and reported outbursts that led to an internal push to demote him – and it’s clear this nomination should have been a non-starter from the beginning. Instead, Trump and his allies are trying to ram it through. A nominee who pressures prosecutors to thwart court orders, ignores the law, bullies colleagues, and can’t define a single red line for resisting Trump when asked? That’s not a judge dispensing justice without fear or favor. That’s a political operative. The hearing may be over – but this fight isn’t. Add your name now. >> People For the American Way
