As the United States approaches its 250th year of existence, it is
doing so amidst the greatest crisis of modern times. Will our nation
still be around in another 250 years? The next hours and days are
fraught with numerous potential triggers that could ignite
civilization-ending war. What will we do to ensure the U.S. celebrates
its 500th birthday?
The post-World War II order is now in shambles due to years and
decades of gross violations. Last month's illegal strikes on Iran by
Israel and the U.S., and the ongoing genocide of the nation of
Palestine, are only the two most recent examples. President Trump's
promise of more strikes if Iran continues enriching uranium is a
dead-end policy that will only lead to further war and
destabilization, if not spark a global nuclear
exchange.
But despite the problems with the current system, simply
tearing it down will never resolve the underlying issues that gave
rise to today's crisis. Such a juvenile approach is akin to
rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, and will only make the
situation worse.
In commemoration of Independence Day this weekend, reflect
upon the words of one of the greatest minds in our nation's history,
John Quincy Adams. Adams
told the House of Representatives on July 4, 1821, that while the
United States would offer its prayers and well-wishes to people around
the world seeking their freedom, America “goes not abroad, in search
of monsters to destroy”:
She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She
is the champion and vindicator only of her own. She will commend the
general cause by the countenance of her voice, and the benignant
sympathy of her example.
She well knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her
own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would
involve herself beyond the power of extrication, in all the wars of
interest and intrigue, of individual avarice, envy, and ambition,
which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom.
In this case, what would happen to the Republic?
The fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from
liberty to force…. She might become the dictatress of the world. She
would be no longer the ruler of her own spirit. [America’s] glory is
not dominion, but liberty. Her march is the march of the mind.
Let us revive the true mission of the United States and cement this
vision as part of a new global security and development architecture
that takes the interests of every nation and people into account.

New TLO Pamphlet
The LaRouche Organization has released a new pamphlet on the
urgently needed economic program for the U.S. economy. The London and
Wall Street-dominated transatlantic system is now in its final
avalanche-like phase of collapse, and our political class seems to be
worse than clueless about where to go from here.
Lyndon LaRouche has uniquely provided the solution for this crisis,
and this report must serve as a blueprint for any serious approach to
rebuild the country.
