Yesterday, President Trump signed his disastrous budget into law. Here’s what it does:
* Kicks hundreds of thousands of Bay Staters off of their health insurance
* Takes food away from children, families, seniors, veterans, and more
* Adds trillions to the national debt
* Makes life more expensive for everyone
The budget I signed into law yesterday couldn’t be more different . Instead of gutting programs, it:
* Invests in our schools
* Fixes roads and bridges, and invests in public transportation
* Supports businesses and grows jobs
* Lowers the costs of housing and education
While Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans turn their backs on the American people, my budget is delivering results on the things that matter most to Massachusetts families and moving our economy forward.
Our state budget saves renters thousands of dollars by eliminating broker’s fees, makes regional transit free, keeps community college cost-free, increases financial aid at state schools, makes it easier to find affordable child care, and protects free school meals for kids. It continues our work to make Massachusetts more affordable.
