Don't get us wrong - we love a headline like this Associated Press one.

But there's one thing missing from it: While Democrats are making crucial, historic investments in state races, Republicans are doing the same. And when Election Day comes around, we'll be playing on their rigged maps.

Here's just how close Democrats are to flipping state legislative chambers:

Iowa: 4 seats to flip the House

Minnesota: 2 seats to flip the Senate

Arizona: 2 seats to flip the House and 3 to flip the Senate

Virginia: 2 seats to flip the House and Senate

North Carolina: 6 seats to flip the House

Texas: 9 seats to flip the House

These numbers are really good! But we all know from 2016 that it's going to take a heck of a lot more than Trump on the ticket and rockstar Democrats to win these races. We need to arm our campaigns with the tools, teams, and resources to win BIG on Election Day, and we can't wait any longer to do it.
