While Jeff Bezos shut down Venice for his multi-million dollar wedding,
the world faces rising poverty and climate collapse.
Momentum is building at the G20 for a billionaire tax that could fund real
solutions—but it needs massive public pressure.
Tell the G20: tax the rich.

John,
Jeff Bezos just spent $50 million on a wedding, turning Venice into his
private playground.
The world faces soaring inequality and climate disasters made worse by
billionaires like Bezos, who profit while paying next to nothing in taxes.
But here’s the solution: A 2% wealth tax on the world’s billionaires could
raise $250 billion every year—enough to fund affordable housing, climate
action, and social safety nets for millions of people.
This year's G20 summit is being hosted by South Africa, and its finance
minister has supported the billionaire tax proposal. But we need massive
public pressure to make taxing the rich a top priority, and get other
countries to follow suit.

Bezos’ multi-million dollar wedding was pure excess, from renting out
UNESCO sites to having the ultra-rich fly in on private jets. It’s a stark
reminder of why we need a billionaire tax now more than ever.
A global billionaire tax could fund the urgent climate solutions we need,
protect communities on the frontlines, and create a greener, fairer world
for us all. But until there is massive public demand, lawmakers will
continue to serve the oligarchy instead of the people they represent.
With the G20 summit right around the corner, this is our chance to make it
happen. Let's show world leaders that people everywhere are calling for
billionaires to pay their fair share. Can you sign and share this petition

The Ekō community has proven its power before, forcing insurers to drop
fossil fuel projects, holding banks accountable for climate destruction,
and taking on the biggest polluters. And now, we can do it again with
billionaires - are you in?
