Hello!

Today is Independence Day, a holiday meant to celebrate freedom, equality, and the right to self-determination.

But this year, it feels like those values are further out of reach than ever.

The Trump administration’s return has brought a wave of authoritarianism, from targeting immigrants and criminalizing dissent to promoting a culture of fear and repression.

Here in Nevada, Governor Joe Lombardo has used his power to roll back reproductive rights, vetoing efforts to protect patients and providers. And Nevada Republicans in the Legislature? They’ve blocked nearly every attempt to expand access to the ballot, guarantee affordable housing, and protect our communities from hate.

So while they wave flags and shout about “freedom,” we know the truth:

Freedom doesn’t mean much if it’s not for everyone.

We believe in an America, and a Nevada, where freedom means:

✅ The right to bodily autonomy

✅ The right to speak, protest, and be heard

✅ The right to live without fear, regardless of who you are or where you come from

This Independence Day, let’s recommit to the fight for true freedom, for all of us.
