Happy Fourth of July! I hope you're enjoying the sunshine, the parades, and maybe a burger or two off the grill.

But in between the fireworks and the flag cakes, I can't help but be reminded that our country was born out of opposition to a king – and a desire to live in a democracy governed by the many, not the few.

That idea matters more than ever – as billionaires and this administration attack our institutions, undermine our elections, and try to silence anyone who stands in their way.

Our democracy has been tested time and time again – but today is a reminder of why that fight is so important and why I'll never back down from protecting it.

Thank you for fighting the good fight. Enjoy the long weekend outdoors with your friends and family.
