H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, is now en route directly to President Trump’s desk. Congratulations to everyone! Despite the blatant, obstructionist tactics of Democrats in Washington – and the screeching of doomsayers who downright hated the One Big Beautiful Bill – Republicans pressed onward and passed this legislation to secure massive wins for the American people. I am immensely proud to have played my part, as Chair of the House Rules Committee, in delivering this bill to the floor for a full vote, and to have voted in favor of it. The wins keep coming!

Per the White House, here are some of the massive wins that we have secured for the American people in H.R. 1:

The largest tax cut in history for middle- and working-class Americans.

Bigger paychecks of $10,000 more in annual take-home pay for families.

No tax on tips.

No tax on overtime.

No tax on Made in America auto loans.

The protection of two million family farms from punitive double taxation.

Permanent increases to the Child Tax Credit

The rescission of billions of dollars in Green New Scam spending.

Deficits slashed by roughly $2 trillion.

The elimination of waste, fraud, and abuse from bloated federal programs.

$150 billion in funding for border security.

Funding for 10,000 new ICE agents, 5,000 Customs officers, and 3,000 Border Patrol agents.

Funding for the Golden Dome missile defense system to confront 21^st-century threats.

The largest Coast Guard upgrade since WWII that will help confront the trafficking of fentanyl and criminal cartels by sea.

Reinforces our nation’s military to ensure it has the resources to be a ready, lethal fighting force after four years of weakness by the Biden-Harris administration.

Driving down energy costs by unleashing domestic oil, gas, and nuclear power and restoring American energy dominance. 

Here’s the bottom line: this legislation is how we will rebuild what Biden-Harris administration broke. In passing this legislation, we’re implementing President Trump’s vision to make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous. It’s true that this legislation is the embodiment of the America First agenda – it is what Americans voted for when they put their trust in President Trump and our Republican majorities in the People’s House and the U.S. Senate. And here’s the best part: our work to deliver wins for the American people is not over – the best is always yet to come.
