Later today, Donald Trump will sign his so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” and he will lie about what’s in it.

As it takes effect, he won’t be able to deny a trillion dollars in Medicaid cuts, and 17 million people losing health insurance. He won’t be able to deny nursing homes and hospitals around the country closing as the result of this bill. But he sure will try.

Republicans just voted for a trillion dollars in cuts to Medicaid, which will rip health care away from at least seventeen million people. All to give enormous tax handouts to billionaires.

Even for those who don’t lose their health care, the consequences of this bill are horrific. Nursing homes and hospitals around the country, which rely on Medicaid dollars, will close. Those that stay open will have more patients and fewer staff.
