John — this Independence Day comes at a tough moment for our nation.

Republicans beholden to Trump this week passed Trump’s Big Ugly Bill that will kick millions of hardworking people off of their health insurance, eviscerate green jobs, and give an enormous handout to wealthy billionaires who are making our lives worse.

At a time when Americans need help the most, the MAGA mob turned its back on the folks across North Carolina — they instead chose to cater to an elite few.

This nation was founded on the ideals of “We the people,” and that shouldn’t come with a price tag.

Our democracy is fragile, John, and the first half of this year has shown that it takes consistent, regular action in our communities if we’re going to put a stop to the MAGA agenda.
