It's Deborah Ross.

On this day in 1776, we made a declaration that would change the course of history — to reject kings and lay the groundwork for a system in which political power flowed from the people.

It's never been more important to remember what we're fighting for.

Our democracy has never been perfect, and it will always be a work in progress. It's our underlying values and idealism and our commitment to always do better that make America truly great. It's why I went into law, and it's why I decided to run for Congress.

But under Donald Trump, our democracy is in more danger than ever. The President of the United States is taking actions that are downright un-American.

These are unprecedented times, but I know that as long as we stand together, we have the power to protect all that we’ve fought for and the progress we’ve made.

Thank you for all that you do to stay engaged and defend our democracy. I hope you take this time to relax, recharge, and spend some quality time with loved ones.

— Deborah

In 2020, Deborah became the first Democrat in over a decade to be elected to represent North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional district. In her first term, eleven pieces of legislation she introduced were signed into law. These measures increased funding for sexual assault nurse examiners, enhanced judicial ethics and transparency, and bolstered North Carolina’s offshore wind energy potential. Deborah needs your support to continue the fight for fairness, equality, and progress. Let’s do this together.
