On July 4, 1776, a group of courageous patriots stood up to tyranny and embarked on a great experiment: a nation built on life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The bold idea that our rights come from God, not the government, has guided our great nation ever since.
Today, we celebrate the freedoms that make America the greatest country on earth: the right to speak freely, to worship as we choose, to pursue our dreams, and to have our voices heard. Generations of brave men and women have answered the call to serve our nation to defend these precious freedoms. We are only enjoying parades, fireworks, and cookouts today because of their service and sacrifice.
This Independence Day, we have more to celebrate with the passage of President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill to lower taxes for working families, help permanently secure our border, and unleash American energy. I can’t think of a better time than the Fourth of July to enact this generational legislation.
The Fourth of July has always been my favorite holiday because we get to take stock of the freedoms and opportunities guaranteed to us as Americans. We are beyond blessed to live in the greatest country on Earth… and it’s not even close!
