Virginia is now the last stronghold for abortion access in the South, John, and that didn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of years of sustained organizing and electing reproductive justice champions to the General Assembly.

Breakthroughs like that are hard-earned—and that’s exactly why anti-abortion extremists are paying attention.

Just days ago, a national anti-abortion group deployed 100 right-wing organizers to knock on 150,000 doors in Richmond and Virginia Beach.

Their goal: flip the House of Delegates back to red and defeat a 2026 ballot measure that would protect abortion rights in the state constitution.

This national anti-abortion group is targeting the very districts where our six Sister District–endorsed candidates—Michael Feggans, Nadarius Clark, Kim Pope Adams, May Nivar, Jessica Anderson, and Lindsey Dougherty—are running. These candidates are stepping up to defend reproductive freedom and protect the rights of Virginians, and they’re counting on us to have their backs.

Sister District is one of the only national progressive organizations reaching voters early in these key districts. Our field program is already making an impact with over 270,000 calls made to voters in Virginia this year alone. But to out-organize the far right, we need to scale up our voter outreach program.
