![]() John, Republicans in the US Senate voted this week to cut more than 500,000 Pennsylvanians off their health care. They claim they just want to “get rid of waste, fraud, and abuse.” Well, Pennsylvania leads the nation in rooting out Medicaid waste, fraud, and abuse. And you need to prove your citizenship or lawful immigration status to receive benefits. So if the federal government wanted to help us keep doing that work and saving taxpayer dollars, I'd gladly accept it — but that’s not what they’re doing. They’re rushing to kick hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians off their health care. I’ve been clear: Pennsylvania is not able to backfill these federal cuts to Medicaid and SNAP. So with Senate Republicans voting to gut health care, slash food assistance, and cut energy jobs here in Pennsylvania, they knew the consequences. And the impacts of this bill will be on them. No matter the outcome, it is clear that extremists are not focused on the needs of working families — so we can’t allow them to gain control over Pennsylvania.
