Today is a dark day. Congress will pass the Big Ugly Bill — a bill that is estimated to take Medicaid coverage away from more than 11 million people and increase the number of uninsured by 16 million people overall. As a practicing ER Doc and legislator, I’ve seen firsthand the devastating consequences of cutting healthcare programs and being uninsured.
This bill is a direct assault on Medicaid, which millions of Americans rely on for life-saving care, and our entire healthcare system. It guts critical healthcare programs, leaving all of us at risk.
This bill will add more than three trillion dollars to the national debt and give tax breaks to billionaires at the expense of working families.
Republican Members of Congress and the President have failed us. They have unleashed devastation on the American people. We must hold them accountable at the ballot box.
I’m working every day for Pennsylvanians that need just a little bit of help - to protect access to affordable healthcare, defend Medicaid, grow the economy, and address medical debt. But to continue this fight, I need your help.
