Last night, the Senate voted to advance Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” which will give huge tax breaks to the top 1% and balloon the national deficit — all on the backs of working people.

While Republicans are working to enrich themselves and their ultra-wealthy allies, their budget is focused on ripping Medicaid from millions of Americans, cutting SNAP benefits and letting people go hungry, and expanding Trump’s tax cuts for the wealthiest few.

There is nothing beautiful about this bill.

Republicans may claim to care about the American people, but don’t listen to what they say. Instead, watch what they do.

In the dead of night, nearly every single Republican Senator voted to pass this version of the bill.

I am strongly urging my Republican colleagues to stand with Democrats against this disastrous bill.
