Chairwoman Stefanik’s Statement on Democrat NYC Mayor Primary

New York GOP Chairman Ed Cox stated –


“Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the Democratic primary is the most alarming
signal yet of how far left and out of touch the Democratic Party has become.
Mamdani is a self-described socialist who has supported the defunding of our
police, the boycotting of our allies and policies that failed in the Soviet
Union.

With Mamdani as the Democratic nominee, anti-Semitism is now dangerously
close to having official status in City Hall. Mamdani must be defeated in
November – and Republican Curtis Sliwa is the only candidate who will fight for
safe streets and economic opportunity for all New Yorkers.”


Chairwoman Stefanik Praises President Trump’s Ceasefire Deal


“Our great nation and the world is a better and safer place because of
President Trump’s bold leadership. In his first administration, he brokered the
historic Abraham Accords. In this one, he took decisive action to eliminate
Iran’s nuclear program to bring peace. President Trump told our allies and
adversaries we would always put America First and achieve peace through
strength. I’m grateful our brave men and women abroad are safe. Promises made,
promises kept by our historic Commander in Chief.”

Elise Secures $4.2 Million for Upstate & North County Projects


Elise delivered $4.2 million in funding through the Northern Border Regional
Commission that will bring major investments in rural healthcare, water
infrastructure, and workforce housing across NY-21 towns like Lake Placid,
Whitehall, Waddington, Plattsburgh, and Webb.


These resources will modernize public health services, build new housing, and
support cultural and municipal development for local priorities to strengthen
economic opportunity via community development and infrastructure builds.


Elise’s work in Congress ensures that New York and the North Country
communities aren’t left behind, but they're empowered to thrive!


Elise stated –


“I’m proud to announce that I helped secure over $4.2 million in funding to
complete important projects via NBRC, which will spur economic growth and
community development throughout our Upstate and North Country communities.

Increasing investment into our communities remains one of my top priorities
as a member of Congress. I look forward to continuing to strengthen NBRC’s
initiatives to enhance rural healthcare and encourage job creation across
NY-21.”


Executive Director of the Lake Champlain-Lake George Regional Planning Board
Beth Gilles stated –


“We’re thrilled to continue our focus on workforce housing development in the
Adirondack Park with support from the Northern Border Regional Commission.

Many communities in the Park are ready for housing solutions, and this grant
will help us prepare shovel-ready sites to meet that need. We’re grateful to
the Congresswoman for her ongoing support of our work and of year-round
residents in the Adirondacks."


Plattsburgh Mayor Wendell Hughes stated –


“It is with great appreciation that the City of Plattsburgh has been awarded
this grant from the Northern Border Regional Commission for our wastewater
system feasibility study for the Rugar Street corridor. This is not just
important for the City of Plattsburgh’s future growth but for our region as a
whole. We are grateful for Congresswoman Stefanik’s efforts on behalf of the
City of Plattsburgh.”

Elise’s Bill to Improve Veterans Pension Benefits Payments Advances in
Committee


Elise continues to deliver real results for our veterans, advancing critical
legislation to ensure they and their families receive the pension benefits
they've earned. Her bill, the Ernest Peltz Accrued Veterans Benefits Act, is a
commonsense fix to bureaucratic failure, and will put our veterans first by
improving the process in which they receive these benefits.

While others simply posture on veterans issues, Elise is working tirelessly
to protect those who protect us!


Elise stated –


“The House Committee on Veterans' Affairs held a hearing on my legislation,
the Ernest Peltz Accrued Veterans Benefits Act, which would improve the process
of issuing pension benefits payments administered by the Department of Veterans
Affairs.

For years, I worked with the Peltz family, our great veterans service
organizations, the VA, and Members of this Committee on crafting this
legislation to ensure that no other family has to endure what the Peltz family
went through when WWII veteran and hero Ernest Peltz passed away."
