This July marks 40 years of Park and Recreation Month! This year's theme--“Build Together, Play Together”--celebrates the vital role parks and recreation professionals play in building inclusive, sustainable spaces that strengthen our communities.

 July 3 & 4 Facility Hours
In preparation for the annual City of Hurst Stars & Stripes event, the following facilities will close early at 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 3:
- Hurst Senior Activities Center
- Hurst Recreation Center
- Hurst Tennis & Pickleball Center
Additionally, the following facilities are CLOSED in observance of Independence Day on Friday, July 4:

Chisholm Aquatics Center is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday, July 4.

The Annual City of Hurst Stars & Stripes event is Thursday, July 3, at Hurst Community Park. Enjoy live music, food trucks, a kids’ area, and a beautiful fireworks show! FREE shuttles are available from designated parking at North East Mall.

 Youth Sports Summer Camps
Register for our Youth Sports Summer Camps by Jump Start Sports! Designed for ages 3–5 and 6–12, these high-energy camps are the perfect way to keep your kids moving, learning, and having a blast all summer long. Whether your child wants to focus on a favorite sport or try out a variety in our multi-sport camps, we’ve got something for every young athlete--no matter their skill level!

 Play Safe: Drowning Prevention Event

Make a splash while learning about water safety! Enjoy lifeguard rescue demonstrations, lifejacket fittings, an interactive photo booth with our staff, and free educational materials. Please note that this event takes place during our open swim hours, and regular admission fees apply.
