Every day, we work with Alzheimer's Association volunteers like Dave, Theresa and Todd — people who have been personally affected by Alzheimer's and are determined to do whatever they can to help further our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
"The end goal is to have the first survivor, and I'd like that to be me." — Dave, who's living with Alzheimer's

"It's so critically important for all of us to support the Alzheimer's Association, because today, over 7 million Americans are living with the disease. Which means that we either know somebody who's fighting the disease or will soon meet someone who is." — Theresa, who lost her mother, father and grandmother to Alzheimer's

Like Dave, Theresa and Todd, Doug Cotton exemplifies the resilient, caring spirit of Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month. After the long, painful Alzheimer's journey he and his family endured — after losing the love of his life, his wife, Susan — Doug could have walked away from our community. And no one would have blamed him.
But Doug knew that so many people impacted by this disease in his community were not aware of the care, compassion and support they could get at their local Alzheimer's Association chapter. So, he chose to fight back with passion, generosity and hope. He created a caregivers conference at his local chapter to help connect caregivers to the education, guidance and resources that helped him give Susan a better life during this most difficult journey.
I'm so grateful to have you as a valued member of our community. But I can't stress enough how important it is that you join the fight now while your first gift can make 3X the impact on our work to bring greater hope and help to everyone impacted by Alzheimer's.
Your donation will strengthen our efforts to advance Alzheimer's care, support and research. From face-to-face support to online education programs and promising global research initiatives, your gift makes a difference in the lives of all those affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias in your community and across the world. Thank you for your continued support.
