The San Antonio Express News just broke the story: “Rep. Joaquin Castro may run for Senate. Will it be a crowded race?”

Texas will be home to one of the most competitive Senate races in the country in the 2026 midterms. And polls show that with the right candidate, this could be the year that Texas finally flips.

And as the Express News is reporting, Joaquin is actively looking at the race.

"Everywhere I go, people are anxious and fearful," Joaquin said. "People are exhausted and they're giving up. They're tired of the corruption and the chaos. I feel like I can meet this moment in our country given my vision and experience."
