Job Fair Opens Opportunities
Jobseekers flocked to Identity’s Job Fair in June to network with employers from industries such as elder care, childhood development, car dealerships and trades. Staff provided on-the-spot resume assistance, translation when needed, and other support – even a lesson in how to tie a necktie for some of the younger job-seekers. One client was offered a job on the spot! Read More... [[link removed]]

Check out our WISHLIST [[link removed]] and VOLUNTEER [[link removed]] opportunities. Their First Tournament
Identity youth at Whetstone Elementary School fielded a team of 25 players for a school-wide soccer tournament, with 60 parents cheering them on. Competing teams included three from the WES Soccer Club, and two enthusiastic kindergarten teams. Identity staff said they were truly inspired by the energy and sportsmanship and strong community support.

ENOUGH Kickoff
Over 150 students and their families attended the Gaithersburg-Montgomery Village ENOUGH Community Kick-Off in May at Summit Hall Elementary School. Food, music and dancing brought neighbors together to learn how to participate in the ENOUGH Community Advisory Board and work groups. ENOUGH is a state-wide initiative of Governor Moore to reduce child poverty and increase economic mobility one neighborhood at a time. District 39 Delegate Greg Wims joined the celebration and ENOUGH partners City of Gaithersburg, 480 Club, Gaithersburg Beloved Community, Identity, Housing Initiative Partnership, MCPS and UMD School of Public Health. Thanks to the Upcounty Hub, which distributed 100 boxes of fresh produce to families
who attended.

Remembering Larry Buc
From Thanksgiving dinners for young Identity families to books for early readers, Larry Buc believed in the promise of all young people and invested in them through Identity with love and generosity. He was an early supporter and driver of the Neighbors Rising collaboration, which has been making a difference for Identity youth and families for more than 7 years. Larry passed away in May. Our hearts go out to his wife Leigh, children and grandchildren, and fellow members of Neighbors Rising.

Former Client Pays It Forward

Former Workforce Development client Jose H. recently donated gift cards to current Identity clients, remembering how such gifts motivated his workforce journey. Now a master electrician, Jose says, “I believe it doesn’t matter what you do in life, but you have to do it with passion and love and education. Identity helped me do that and I wanted to give something back.” Read his story here. [[link removed]]
