Hi friend,
I’m Cristina Jiménez — mom, organizer, and author of Dreaming of Home.
Before all that, I was a young undocumented immigrant growing up in Queens — living in fear, feeling invisible, and searching for a sense of safety and purpose.
Writing this book has been one of the most vulnerable and powerful experiences of my life. It’s a story about what it meant to grow up undocumented in this country — but more than that, it’s about building something bigger than fear: Community, power, and a movement for justice.
I wrote this for the young people like me who didn’t see themselves in books or history.
I wrote it to honor the parents and families who sacrifice so much.
And I wrote it to show what’s possible when we come together and say: We belong here — and we’re not going anywhere.
With every copy, you’re not just reading my story — you’re supporting the fight for immigrant justice. I’m donating proceeds from
Dreaming of Home to United We Dream, because this movement shaped who I am.
If you haven’t ordered your copy yet, I’d be honored if you did today:
