Donald Trump has just opened Pandora’s box in the Middle East.

That’s what I told MSNBC this weekend after President Trump launched strikes against nuclear facilities in Iran.

No authorization from Congress. No debate. No explanation to the American people.

As a senior member of the Foreign Affairs and Intelligence Committees, it’s obvious that these strikes are a dangerously escalatory step. Too often, presidents mistake the initial acts of war as the conclusion to a conflict, instead of the beginning.

Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu’s actions in Iran risk another protracted war in the Middle East – one that the American people do NOT want. 

That’s why we must do everything in our power to hold the Trump administration accountable and stop a larger war in the Middle East. We must speak out now before it’s too late.
