Contact Me Here Honoring Dairy Farmers during National Dairy Month To acknowledge the hard-working farmers and producers who drive one of New York’s most vital industries, I introduced a resolution expressing my support for the designation of June as National Dairy Month. With nearly 3,200 dairy farms producing over 15.7 billion pounds of milk each year, New York ranks as the third-highest milk-producing state in the country, and Wyoming County, right here in NY-24, leads the state in milk production. Our district is proud to be the fourth-largest dairy-producing district in the nation. Despite their essential contributions, our dairy farmers are constantly under threat from burdensome regulations, rising costs, and unfair trade practices. Now, Albany Democrats are pushing legislation to limit the size of dairy farms to just 700 cows, which would be a death sentence for the industry and devastate rural communities across New York. Our farmers deserve recognition, not restrictions. I will continue fighting for our agricultural economy and standing with the dairy families of NY-24 to ensure they get the respect and support they’ve earned. Reiterating the United States’ Unwavering Support for Israel The United States must remain committed to our unwavering support for Israel as it takes bold action to dismantle Iran’s nuclear enrichment capabilities and defend its people from escalating attacks. For decades, the Islamic Republic of Iran has violated international agreements, funded terrorism, and openly threatened the destruction of Israel and the United States. Despite repeated diplomatic efforts, Iran continues to obstruct inspections, expel international monitors, and enrich uranium to weapons-grade levels. I introduced a resolution this week that sends a clear message: the U.S.-Israel alliance is strong, and we fully support Israel’s right to self-defense and its targeted operations to prevent the Iranian regime from acquiring nuclear weapons, a threat not only to Israel, but also to the United States and the entire free world. I will always stand with our greatest ally in the Middle East and work to ensure Iran is never allowed to threaten global peace and stability with nuclear weapons. Yet, there is no clear exemption for firearms, one of our most fundamental constitutional rights. The Protecting Gun Owners in Bankruptcy Act ensures that every American’s constitutional right to self-defense is protected, regardless of their financial status. This legislation corrects that injustice by exempting up to $3,000 worth of firearms from bankruptcy proceedings, recognizing them as essential property. Americans should never have to choose between financial stability and personal safety. The Second Amendment is not conditional; it applies to all Americans, including those facing hard times. Attorney General James is Targeting Our Local Law Enforcement Sheriff Hilton and I at the 2025 Joint Session of Congress Welcome to New York State, where violent criminals walk free and the state Attorney General targets law enforcement officers for doing their jobs. This week, New York State Attorney General Letitia James launched a politically motivated investigation into local law enforcement across the state, including Oswego County Sheriff Don Hilton, for properly doing their jobs and cooperating with federal law enforcement. Instead of going after gang members, drug traffickers, and violent offenders, AG James is using taxpayer dollars to harass local sheriffs who are enforcing the law and making our communities a safer place. These anti-police, pro-criminal policies are a disgrace to our state and a direct threat to public safety. I stand with Sheriff Hilton and every sheriff in NY-24 who refuses to back down in the face of Albany’s radical agenda. We must restore law and order in New York, and that starts with supporting those who wear the badge, not punishing them. As your representative in Congress, my top priority is championing legislative initiatives that benefit you and your families. Each week, I review numerous bills and letters, engaging in thorough discussions with members of our community to determine which actions to support and address your needs. Below are a few bills I recently cosponsored. H.Res.494: Condemning the Violent Acts Against Law Enforcement Officers and Military Service Members, and Destruction of Personal Property in Los Angeles, California: This resolution condemns state and local governments’ attempts to undermine Federal immigration officials’ mission to keep communities safe due to misguided sanctuary city policies, such as those of Governor Gavin Newsom. Additionally, this resolution denounces any acts of violence that occurred in the city of Los Angeles during the protests. This resolution reaffirms the duty of federal immigration agencies to carry out their positions and condemns any action of sanctuary city officials to stop this process. I will always support law enforcement and ensure their safety and protection. H.R. 3643, the VA Data Transparency and Trust Act: This bill would require the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) to issue annual reports to Congress that detail how VA benefits are being delivered, anonymous details on the types of veterans using benefits, and how well the system of the VA is working, while protecting the privacy of individual veterans. The VA has struggled to make consistent and well-defined metrics available to Congress so that we can make informed policy decisions. Veterans deserve a VA that provides benefits based on transparency, accountability, and data-driven decisions. H.R. 3917, the Protection of Women in Sports at Military Academies Act: This bill would ensure that women’s athletic programs and activities at military service academies are only for women and prohibits biological men from participating in these programs. The radical Left continues to assault women’s rights by allowing biological men to participate in women’s sports, which erases the Title IX protections for which generations of women fought so hard to achieve. I will always fight to protect women’s sports and recognize the biological differences between men and women. H.R. 3816, the Weather Act Reauthorization: This bill makes critical improvements to our nation's weather systems. Specifically, it strengthens severe weather forecasting by updating key research programs from the 2017 Weather Act and expanding NOAA’s access to critical data. It also launches new R&D initiatives on advanced radar, storm surges, aviation weather, and other high-impact hazards. This will better ensure that we are staying ahead of disastrous weather events and save lives. The Army's 250th Birthday Celebration in Livingston County Our team, alongside state and local officials, joined the Kenneth B. Keating VFW Post 26 in Lima to celebrate the United States Army’s 250th birthday this weekend! The Army’s legacy of courage and unwavering service to our country has continued since 1775, and we are indebted to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice over these 250 years. Thank you to all who have served or are currently serving! Celebrating Gene Gerrard's Birthday This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the 103rd birthday celebration of U.S. Coast Guard veteran Gene Gerrard! Gene served in WWII, became a successful business owner, and is a proud family man. He continues to be the living embodiment of courage, tenacity, and service that we should all strive to emulate.
