Beat the Heat: Heat Wave Warning

Summer starts this weekend—and it’s coming in scorching. Temperatures across NYC are expected to reach the upper 90s and even low 100s this week. In response, the City’s Heat Emergency Plan is in effect, and Cooling Centers are open through next week.

Extreme heat is not just uncomfortable—it can be deadly. Older adults, pregnant people, young children, and those with chronic health conditions are especially vulnerable. Please take precautions:

* Drink plenty of water
* Stay indoors or in air-conditioned spaces
* Watch for symptoms of heat illness ([link removed]*3D&hmac=ccoG7s7J5gJVBoZIANUOQpgzSgHY6AfAkBeQ7_NDDtA=&emci=791238fe-424d-f011-8f7c-6045bdfe8e9c&emdi=27394914-5b4d-f011-8f7c-6045bdfe8e9c&ceid=13823742__;JQ!!Pe07lN5AjA!Tb_7oT28LENq5bn3UkdC4NI6Fv92XnhCjBoM7MTKf0kG1PppkKDPIhJjGicgHAwhVTZg5pHyo9MUcqPG-2DP3VoSflcrRQ$) like dizziness, nausea, weakness, or cramps
* Check in on neighbors and loved ones
