For almost 35 years, Wildlands Network has been partnering with communities across North America to ensure that animals big and small can find safe passage and have a chance to thrive.

Even with the progress we’ve made, we know that the threats to wildlife are increasing. Road networks are expanding, development continues to push outward from cities, and outdated and aging infrastructure thwarts wildlife movement and threatens habitat health. Even the most well-intentioned efforts to transition our energy grid from fossil fuels are driving new fragmentation and conversion of habitat to acres of solar panels.

Paired with continued uncertainty as to how or whether the U.S. federal government will support conservation action, and after devastating cuts to existing programs have already been made, the challenges to our shared vision loom large.

Right now is the time to invest in Wildlands Network. Our deep partnerships, multi-national vision, commitment to developing new and innovative conservation policy, and long history of place-based victories for wildlife are the foundation to creating a sustained, continental network of habitat for wildlife.

For years, we’ve invested in state-level coalitions and have built a deep bench of elected officials across the United States who are taking action as I type this to support wildlife connectivity. We’ve made connecting and restoring wildlife habitat a bipartisan issue in Congress and a cause shared by advocates across the political spectrum. In this and coming years, we’re positioned to advance new laws designed to directly protect wildlife, at all levels of government.

You are the catalyst for these actions. We know that we can’t do this work without our loyal supporters – showing up, speaking out, helping us push things forward state by state and donating their dollars and time to this critical work. Together, we can continue to make progress for wildlife even when things feel dire.
