We will be discussing two readings this time:

An excerpt from “Understanding Capitalism” by Vivek Chibber as part of a DSA’s National Political Education Committee (NPEC) module
The Jacobin article “What is Democratic Socialism?” by Neal Meyer

Readings are not required to participate but it is strongly encouraged to help make for more generative discussion in the breakout groups.

Trump’s deportation machine has kicked into high gear, snatching people off the street, raiding homes and workplaces, and activating the National Guard and Marines to suppress protests and resistance. This past weekend nearly 7 million people took to the streets in a powerful show of force against Trump and his draconian policies.

What will it take to defeat Trump’s deportation machine, his billionaire backers, and the Right? What demands and actions can Seattle DSA members and the broader Left put forward to further build a mass movement?

Join Seattle DSA’s Boycott War Profiteers Campaign to make our communities apartheid free!

You can help by joining our table outside the Columbia City PCC. There, we will engage PCC workers and consumers to build momentum for our push to divest PCC of Israeli goods and protect the rights of PCC workers to express their solidarity with Palestine.

No experience is required, training will be provided on site and you will be paired with experienced volunteers!
