Dallas Morning News Op-ed: “Gutting Texas Dream Act is a Mistake”

The Texas Dream Act has invested in Texas Dreamers and given them a fighting chance at achieving their dreams. Their participation in sectors like healthcare, energy, tech and more has enabled the Texas economy to boom. To gut the law is a mistake. Read my op-ed in the Dallas Morning News here.

New Leaders Council Capstone Community Day

This past weekend, I had the honor of speaking at the New Leaders Council (NLC) Capstone Community Day in San Antonio. We honored the newest cohort of the NLC and discussed the importance of investing in local, place-based leadership pipelines, community empowerment, and fostering cross-sector collaboration to build a more equitable San Antonio.

No place, no city or community in our country has a monopoly when it comes to military sacrifice. Our service members serve because they believe in the values of our country. But that trust and goodwill has sometimes been abused by political leaders who sent our service members to fight in wars under false pretenses based on bad or biased intelligence.
