Dear John,
During the most recent Administration, our First Freedom came under attack in ways we had not seen.
Twenty-three Americans were put in prison for praying outside an abortion clinic. The Catholic Church was investigated by the FBI as a radical group, and FBI officers asked hundreds of priests to join the federal government in their effort against the Church.
Easter Sunday was even declared Transgender Visibility Day.
The Future of Religious Freedom Depends on You Be a Difference-Maker in the Fight for Faith
Yet in these dark times, you and I stood our ground. We would not yield. We fought back, and we won critical victory after critical victory for religious freedom.
Thanks to these victories, a different direction is being pushed by the American people and the new Administration is starting to bring about change.
An example of this change in direction happened this week.
The President’s newly established Religious Liberty Commission met for the first time.
As an appointed member of the Commission, I want to share with you what we discussed and what we hope to accomplish:

Right now, we are living in a sea change moment. We have an opportunity to fully reclaim our First Amendment rights...to fully re-establish religious freedom as our First Freedom.
Administrations come and go, but opportunities like this only come around once in a generation.
That’s why my goal on the Commission is not just to recommend changes that will last for one President, but changes that will be permanent or long lasting in protecting and advancing religious freedom for all Americans.
Be First in the Fight for Religious Freedom Help Secure the Blessings of Liberty for Generations to Come
John, you and I must grab hold of these opportunities and expand them by boldly living out our faith like never before.
Here are three things you can do today to do just that:
- Pray for the direction of our nation and for initiatives like the Religious Liberty Commission to have a positive impact on America’s future.
- Join First Liberty’s Restoring Faith in America movement and be a difference maker for religious freedom in your community.
- Stand with First Liberty on the frontlines in the fight for faith. Together, we can answer today’s attacks and secure tomorrow’s expressions of faith.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support. It’s people like you that make what we do at First Liberty possible.
Grateful for you,
Kelly
