Hello John,

If you've been thinking it over but haven’t yet registered, we want to encourage you to sign up for the Kirk Center's conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on June 27–28.

This conference will bring together leading American and European thinkers for a special two-day event exploring the prospects for Anglo-American intellectual conservatism in the tradition of Russell Kirk and Roger Scruton. Space is filling up, but there's still time to reserve a spot.

Register for our Kirk Scruton Conference

This “conservatism in the tradition of Kirk and Scruton” conference is free and open to the public. We have attendees traveling in from all over the country and the world, and we'd love to have you join us.

Earlier this month, I told you about Friday—the first day of this special conference. Information about the speakers and topics for Saturday's discussions are now listed below. Simply click on an image to expand it.

Session 4: Conservatism and Religion
  • Conserving American Protestantism Both Past and Future - Glenn Moots
  • Conservatism and the Spirit of the Sabbath - Mathis Bitton
  • Before Burke: The Mosaic Origins of the Conservative Tradition - Ronen Shoval
Session 5: Conservatism, Education, and Constitutional Order

You may find more information about the conference, including the schedule and logistical FAQ, here.

Should you have any questions about the event, please contact Emily Corwin, the Kirk Center’s Director of Events, at [email protected].

If you would like to become part of the community of supporters for this program, you may make a contribution on our website, or by contacting Ashley Jordan, the Center’s donor relations officer, at [email protected].

Following the conference, we intend to publish the papers as a book to advance the scholarly literature on Kirk, Scruton, and the Burkean tradition of conservatism — and do our part to redeem the time.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey O. Nelson, Ph.D.
Executive Director & CEO
