Friends, Family, and Neighbors-
We finished up our work at the State Capitol on Monday after reconvening on May 26th. This was an unprecedented Legislative session, in the same way that life has been for all of us over the past three months. Countless bills were abandoned due to budget and time constraints, with months of hard work lost. We were, however, able to get various COVID-19 relief bills passed that I outlined in my previous newsletter, as well as a historic bill to address police brutality and accountability. Our attention has now shifted to the interim and getting prepared for next year.
Even in these challenging times, it has truly been an honor to serve House District 62. I am amazed by the resiliency, innovation, creativity, and positive spirit that is always on full display in Southern Colorado. You all make this work worth it and I could not do it without the community. I look forward to spending this interim in House District 62 and speaking to the community about how we can keep Southern Colorado moving forward. I am committed to preserving our rural way of life and prioritizing our water rights, economic development, education, and healthcare.
I am up for reelection this year, and could use your support in the Primary on June 30th. Get your ballots in and vote Valdez! If you are financially able and would like to make a contribution to our campaign to help me get reelected, please donate on the website.
Thank you all for your support.
Sincerely,
