Key dates for your 2025 hunting calendar 

Summer means a lull in hunting activity, but you'll want to mark your calendar for these important dates leading up to the fall 2025 hunting season:

Big game hunting dates:

• Results of the deer and antelope draw for residents and nonresidents will be available June 20.
• The deadline for entering the Super Tag and Combo lotteries is July 4.
• Deer and antelope permits go on sale over-the-counter on July 9 for Nebraska residents and resident landowners and July 23 for nonresidents.
• The deadline for residents to enter the Bighorn Sheep Lottery is Aug. 1. 
• The 2025 November firearm deer season is Nov. 15-23.

Upland Hunting:

• Oct. 25 is the opener for pheasant, quail and partridge, while prairie grouse begins Sept. 1.

Waterfowl Hunting:

• Early teal season begins Sept. 6.
