Dear John:

Tomorrow is Juneteenth, a day that honors Black freedom and Black resistance and honors Black people’s unique contribution to the struggle for justice in the United States. This Juneteenth weekend, the Movement for Black Lives is calling for a national mobilization with actions in Washington, D.C. and across the country. People’s Action members, our friends and neighbors will rally in defense of Black lives.

Watch and share our new video supporting the Juneteenth events

Unfortunately, we know that white supremacists are spreading lies about these protests on social media in a coordinated, nationwide effort to trick our communities and local leaders. These lies have shown up all over the country and they're been proven to be totally false every time. We don't have to fall for it - we know we’re stronger when we stand together.

We’ve created a new video and a set of resources online for you to use to counter the racists who are trying to stoke conflict at this weekend’s events. Use our digital toolkit and share our video to support your neighbors standing in defense of Black lives.

By pulling together, as we’ve done in the past, we can make our country a place of liberty and justice for all.

We hope you’ll join us as we stand with the Movement for Black Lives at this weekend’s Juneteenth events.

In solidarity,

Bree Carlson
